My visit to the ER....again!

Brian went to the store last night, while he was gone I got up to go to the bathroom, the I called him in tears to come home and take me in. It hurt so bad! He packed me up and off we went. Apparently in the ER bounce-back chest pain isn't the #1 priority, but I didn't have to wait too long. They got me in a room, got an IV going and did another EKG which was normal. The doc looked over my chart and asked me all the usual questions. She was on her way out when I said "How about something for the pain?" She was like "Oh, you want something?" DUH! That's why I went in! I didn't really expect them fom FIX it, I just wanted to feel better! So I got some morphine. I was laying there thinking "its starting to work." when they took me for another chest x-ray. As soon as I took a deep breath for the xray it undid anything the morphine had done. I got back to my room and told them it still hurt just as bad and they gave me more. Finally I was starting to feel comfortable. They still aren't sure what is causing the pluerisy but I am going to see my regular doc tomorrow, whether they like it or not. I'll just show up if I have to.

They sent me home with a scrip for TOBI because there is a spot that showed up on the xray that they don't like, and vicodine (thank god)! In the waiting room waiting for Brian to bring the car around I almost passed out. The morphine hit me really hard all of a sudden and my blood pressure dropped. My friend Kenny was there though and he ran and grabbed a nurse. They got a stretcher and got me laid down again. I hadn't eaten in a while so Brian got me a ham sandwich and OJ from the food cart. I laid there and ate and started to feel better. Kenny wheeled me out to the car. I put the seat back and just laid there. ABout half way home I felt like I was going to puke so Brian pulled over and there went my sandwhich and OJ. I felt a lot better after that though and I had enough morphine in me that throwing up didn't hurt. We got home, I crawled into bed and had the best sleep I've had all week.

I feel better today. I'm still going to take the vicodine though becaue TOBI makes me cough, which still hurts like h*ll.

sorry to hear you are in such pain.
make sure to be doing clearance every 4 hours that you are awake. your condition sounds like in me it would turn into pneumonia quickly if I didn't stay on top of some form of CPT.
drink lots of water.
good luck and keep us posted.

I too am so sorry you are in this much pain. I hate it, because CPT would make it feel better but to do it causes so much pain from coughing that it is a horrible circle. I hope you find some relief soon!
