How often do you guys wash your nebulisers and do you sterilise them?

Grateful for any advice.

You put me to shame. Use nebuliser once in morning and once in evening then wash and air dry at end of day.

I use mine twice before washing them. I'll use mine morning and night, then I'll wash it with hot water and antibacterial soap, then I'll boil them for 10 mins and let air dry on paper towel overnight.

We do that with our daughter's nebuliser. Don't sterilise it every day though? Do you reckon we should?

You definitly should. I would worry about nasty bacteria sticking around if you're using tap water to clean them. Even if you're not using tap water you shold.

I wash my daughter's nebulizer parts with antibacterial clear soap after each use and let them airdry on papertowels. Once a day I boil the parts for 20 minutes after my kids go to bed. That way in the morning they are dry and ready for use. One time i fell asleep before pulling the parts out and they boiled for like 2 hours before I woke up! I'm lucky I didn't burn the house down. So, now I'm super careful to stay awake!

You should definetively sterilize it after each use!!! I use a steam disinfector for baby bottles, thats the easiest way and is also recommended by Pari.

Some nebulizers can go in the dishwasher (in small parts basket).
If the dishwasher heats the water way up and if you have a dry cycle, most docs say this will be good enough cleaning.

Our dishwasher does get hot enough to sterilize the neb parts; however, I don't run it every day -- maybe once or twice a week. So at noon I wash the nebs in hot soapy water, let them soak while I get the water boiling on the stove -- then I boil them for 10 minutes. I rinse in very hot water between boiling and set them on a paper towel on the counter -- I never put them in the sink to dry 'cuz they don't seem to dry off enough.
