Nebulizer treatments

Okay so I have an issue that just started with both of my boys nebulizer lines. When we do aerosols it seems like the med or moisture gets in the tubing. I always make sure that it is out of there so nothing grows (hopefully) from sitting in there. I checked with the RT from our home health care company and he stated that the stems on the Pari neb kits could have a little crack in them.

Okay so we got some brand new neb kits and it still seems like it is doing it with those sometimes. I am worried about Pseudo or other things growing and then then inhaling it. I did change the tubing when we got the neb. kits but an a little worried. I need advise.... Thanks,

When it's more humid, I've noticed we get moisture in the tubes. I believe the literature that comes with the pari neb cups indicate that you should run the compressor with the tubing attached -- no neb cup -- for a few minutes to get rid of the moisture.

I agree running it for a few m inutes will help, ours does it too I noticed so it must be a common and okay thing. just make sure to run it to dry it out.

Yes. This will happen when the air is more humid. We are vacationing at the beach this week, and the tubes are drenched when we finish a treatment. In addition to running the compressor after you are done, like Liza suggests, you can then hang the tubes over something so that any condensed moisture you did not get out will drain down instead of sitting stagnant.
