Why do some people use a nebulizer for their inhaled drugs and some use the inhalers? Is it more effective to use the nebulizer? My son uses Albuterol before CPT and Flovent after CPT, both in the inhaler form, but I see many people talking about using the nebs. Any reason we would want to switch to the nebulized versions? Can you only use the neb for specific inhaled drugs?

I do believe much has to do with the doctors way of doing things. For me I prefer the nebs because its not as "harsh" when I breath it in & my doctor believes many CFers like the moisteness that goes with it.

We just switched our daughter from nebs to an inhaler w/ a spacer. Her CF doc and RT both said the inhaler is just as effective as the nebulized.
