Hi
Just a question. We had a 10 day stay in hospital with a gastro problem pooing like you wouldn`t beleive. Now we are home he just won`t stop crying I am up about 10 times a night finding it very hard to settle my bubby. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem> he is well and truly out of his routine and we had a great one before he got sick. He seems to be starving, I`m feeding alll of the time and through the night. The clinic tells me he is playing catch up from all the weight he has lost. Do I just keep feeding on demand or is he playing on the fact that he got picked up every time he cried in hospital. He has always been such a good sleeper. Sorry if it sounds funny but have tried lots of things and nothing seems to work. Thanks for listening

Sorry your having a hard time. I would feed him on demand like your clinic said. When my daughter was hospitalized at 5 months from a bowel obstruction she too lost alot of weight. I would be up with her at night feeding her alot. She too seemed to cry alot at the time. i even brought her to her pediatrician because she seemed to cry so much i thought something was wrong. My pediatrician said she had been traumatized from her hospital stay and give her time to readjust. he was right. Her old personality came back once she readjusted to being at home. Just some input on what happended to us.

We had problems with DS adjusting to the quietness of our house. He spent the first 6 weeks of life in the hospital -- hooked up to beeping monitors, people talking all the time, in and out, lots of background noise. So the first night we put him in his crip and he hated it. So rocked him to sleep, swaddled him tight, played music in his room. Also, it took awhile to get his enzymes adjusted. I'd be changing a poopy diaper and he'd shoot poop across the room. Eventually his stools became more solid, he slept more, ate more and we got to sleep.
