Let me start out by telling my story and what has been going on in my life these past years.
In 1999 I had my first bought with hemoptysis. Its was aweful emotionally and physically draining. Back then I did not know other cfers. I had my first hospitalization in 1999. Since then I have been in and out of the hospital with hemoptysis. I have had my upper left lobe removed and my gallbladder removed.
I went on social security disability in 2001.
My last job was in 1999 as a bookkeeper fro my sis in laws mom's company.
Having said all that I am now in better shape health wise. Even though my fev1 is lower than it used to be and ocassionally still deal with samll bought of hemoptysis, I am generally in better health. My tune-ups are gernerally twice a year now, verses every two months.
I dont think I could hold down a 9-5 job yet. My husband and I are not in need of extra income, it would just be something to do for me. I feel the need to go out and experience life again.
But the prob I am having is that I have been out of the work force for years and dont know where to start.
I want a job to be more like a hobbie. Nothing serious, just something to do and to bring in some extra cash. I have tried applying places and never get a call back and I think its because of the years of no work.

I am looking to you all for some ideas on what to do. I have tried marketing and dont find it fun. lol.
Here are my loves of life and maybe you can help me come up with something cool to do.
I love;
animals (mainly dogs)
anything medicine related
babies and kids
computers
internet
decorating
crocheting
cooking
wine (making and drinking)
Please let me know if you have any suggestions
Thanks

Since you list the internet, I will suggest that you google up "pro blogging". Some folks make money online by blogging about things they are interested in. You could pick any of the other topics you listed and consider starting a blog, researching how one makes money with a blog, etc. (And if you start raking in the dough, throw me a few pointers, <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> . I would love to do something like that.)

How about a medical transcriptionist?

I know that you need training for this one, but once you are finished, I think you can work from home and decide how little or much you want to do.

This would fall under "anything medical"

Hi Khrystina,

You have a lot of interests which is great. I do know people who have home-based businesses that used their talents. I knew one woman who started painting her own t-shirts, then wearing them. So of course when people asked her where she got them from -- she said that she made them. Soon people started buying them. When she couldn't keep with the demand, she trained other people do paint her designs. And her business grew and grew.

Years ago, my friends' mom made a tennis visor for herself. Whenever she wore it to play tennis, other people wanted them too. That business grew so quickly, that her husband closed up his company to join hers. Soon her visors, then socks, were being sold by the major retailers.

I know someone else who goes to Goodwill on the day they get their new merchandise. She photographs everything, sizes it, then posts it on E-Bay under vintage clothing. She gets orders from around rhe world where they want vintage American clothes.

I know someone else who made beautiful bustiers (when they were in style), then went to the local boutiques and asked them to carry them. Each one sold for $125.00 and up. As the orders grew, he hired his cleaning woman and her friends to make the items in her spare time. This business grew also.

Also, look on Craig's list. There are interesting jobs on there. And it's a place where you can list your things to sell accompanied by a photo and it costs nothing.

A lot of people start small, in their homes, and start with offering the products to friends. This is how Mrs. Fields Cookies started. Google her story.
