Dont worry too much yet, we're just finishing our flu season, and the H1N1 didnt seem to impact the cf community here really badly.

Everyone seemed to have the flu though, but it got to the point that people didnt know if they had the h1n1 or something else...not everyone gets it badly.

The good news: everywhere you go there's antiseptic hand wash and notices asking people to cover their mouths etc.

The bad news: everyone is mor elikely to come in contact with the flu because no one's got any immunity.

Just do what you usually do, wash your hands. I was pretty worried about it at the start of winter, but I was the one in our family who got sick lol. My kids didnt catch anything (except D had a flu, wasnt the h1n1 though).

one thing I did do when I went to the hospital: try not to touch any handrails or door handles etc. Our hospital had a couple of people die from the h1n1, but neither were cf as far as I know.

The other good thing was that people were more inclined to stay home instead of going to work, yah! I't always annoys me that people go to work sick or send their kids to school sick and spread all the germa around.

Anyhow, hope that alleviates some of your concerns...just hope the darn thing doesnt mutate or anything. We also have the vaccine coming in late sept., just talking to my daughter A about it yesterday, we're both unsure whether to get it or not (me for my son S).

Might wait until you all have it (you can be our guinea pigs lol)...<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
