A BREAKTHROUGH innovation just hit the market, which allows for the first time, to measure CF treatments in the lungs in "real-time". The new technique allows for doctors and researchers to measure how effective treatments are "very quickly", meaning they can adopt new treatments in clinical settings much faster then previously possible.
The new technique allows doctors to see soft tissue as they would using an x-ray machine to view hard tissue like bones. Current methods for tracking CF treatments typically need to wait for a CF treatment to have an effect on lung health and then measure either by a lung CT scan or breath measurement device, to see how effective that treatment is.
