Hi,
I just joined this message board and wanted to introduce myself. I am 33. My husband is 36 and has CF. He was diagnosed at age 32 (4 years ago). We have been married for 8 years. We are also members of some other CF online groups. Looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know you.

What is a PWCF'er? I NEED to know!!!
And welcome Nancy. We're happy to have you. Have a sense of humor to get thru this CF stuff. It can be a bumpy road at times!

Oh, I think I just answered my own question. 'PERSON WITH CF'.
I am the biggest dork!
I thought it was a 'power cf'er' or even a war thing. MIA, POW, PWCF.

Thank you for the welcome. Yes, pwcf means person with cystic fibrosis. It is what we use on our other CF list so I just used it out of habit I guess.

Hi,

Welcome.. This board is really great at lending support and understanding as well as lots of knowledge. I was Dx at 29 and I am now 32... It is quite an adjustment to have to make .. and a ton of information to absorb...How is your husband and his overall health? I am always so curious because when I was dx they acted like I was the only adult CFer in the world to be dx and that it was such a rare and freakesh thing....What made them finally come to the conclusion to test him for CF?

Anyway glad you are hear, hope you find it as helpful as I do,

Jennifer

Hi and thanks for welcoming me. My husband's health is fair overall. He just finished 21 days of IV antibiotics (at home). You asked what led up to his diagnosis. Well, he had health problems all of his life, but was misdiagnosed. He was finally correctly diagnosed as an adult after having pneumonia several times. I used to post here in 2001 right after he was diagnosed. They have changed the site up some since I was here last. I also belong to cystic-l.

Thanks again. I look forward to getting to know you all better. <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">
