Ok, so I had some extra free time tonight -- I've never come to the "off topic" section before..........looks like fun :)

My question is... what is this "rate topic" business? I don't recall seeing it on the Adults or Families sections and it's not on every topic here either....so what's the point?

Figured I'm make my intro with a stupid question, just to show you all how much self esteem I have

Ok, and to make matters worse I think I rated my own topic when I thought I was adding that last emoticon !!!!!

Welcome to the OT section Alyssa . I rated your topic. hehe. I think it's just for fun actually. SO we can play around, see what OT topics are viewed the most.

Yeah, but aren't blondes supposed to have more fun? I'm blonde 2. Perhaps it's why your on 'Off Topic'. I've no idea how the ratings thingy works, nor the Blog thingy. I can't even log on with a user name. It's so bloody irritating. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Charolette why don't you post a thread to Bill, title it something easy for him to recognize like "Bill, Help me Please!" and then write what is happening in as much detail as you can and try to include what kind of system you have if you know and I bet he will be able to help you out. Then he'll probably delete the thread or move it. He's done it for me, he's very nice and helpful. Oh yah, I would post it in adult, I think they check there the most, I could be wrong but thats where I have the best luck. Or you could ask him about it in the blog thread in adult because he checks that regularly too. Just a thought.

Original Topic Title!!
I've never done a rating before, and when I tried to do the rating function for a question of mine, I was told i ended up rating my own topic (though the person who told me--Jarrod--was just pulling my leg!!). But I noticed there is only one "Thumbs Up", not "Two Thumbs Up" like Siscal and Ebert!!
The only problem with the Off Topic (often used as OT), is not enough people stray into this area of the forum...

Cheers Debbie, I'll give it a go!

I think you can also click on any "report this to a moderator" link - when you do that you are given a box to type in and say "I'm having a problem with ....." ~ that's the way I have contacted Bill too.
