Does anyone else out there have night sweats? They've been happening to me a lot recently. I'll wake up in the middle of the night, dripping sweat and my sheets will be soaked. I have no idea why, any ideas?

I agree with NoDayButToday, they can be a sign of infection. Also I have them but I get them due to the fact that I am on a diuretic because my body hold fluid. I obviously can't pee all night long so my body sweats. I especially sweat alot on my legs. So if you are not feeling ill or you still have them after a tune-up, maybe you are just getting rid of excess fluid. Not a big deal, but it does suck waking up in a swimming pool. LOL

I hope this doesn't freak you out but I think night sweats can have something to do with your heart if it isn't coming with a fever. My CF docs always ask if I've been having night sweats and heart palpitations when I got in for my visits. You should call your doc.

I used to get them sometimes not very often. Then when I got my feeding tube for about a week or so I would have them everynight. Someone told me it was because my body was working to digest the formula. It has since stopped now which is great now I don't wake up and have to change anymore. But you might want to tell your doc just to make sure everything is ok.

You are talking about night sweats what about day sweats lol. As I sit i just start to sink in my sweat and my clothes would start to cling to my body and all that crappy stuff. That is not to mention my palms which are constantly wet its embarrassing when handshaking.

I am 36 yr old female with Cf too and I get Night Sweats too....well mine are more like cold night sweats. I can feel my temperature rize but then I sweat and get cold. It only happens when I'm in bed too. So your not alone, is it normal to have night sweats? I just did a glucose test for diabetes....don't have the results yet tho.....could having the night sweats be a result in possible diabetes?

I actually sweat a lot during the day too. I find my hands are ALWAYS sweaty and gross, no matter what I do. I'm constantly wiping them on my clothes before I go to type something new, because I feel like I'm sliming up my laptop.

I sweat when I take naps, but not at night. My hands are always sweaty, and so are my armpits, the backs of my knees, and the bottoms of my feet. I only get cold sweats when I have to go to the bathroom really bad! :)

Oh, this reminds me. I remember that it was real popular in junior high for friends to write on each other's hands. I would always get embarassed, because my hands were always sweaty, and you couldn't even write on them because of the "slime" as Emily says. LOL

I get night sweats almost every night and I do agree with the others that it could be a sign of infection... Your body, as was explained to me, is going into shock.

Oh well, I have personally stopped caring. I just sleep with my shorts on and no covers or blankets. Or I don't sleep at all

light pure cotton bedding helps me. a couple of light cotton filled summer quilts are much better than one heavy polyester filled winter quilt. i use to get sweats without fail every night. id put a big heavy polyester quilt on and feel all snug at first but id wake up a few hours later boiling hot. so then id take it off, get cool again, then put it back on to feel snug and the same thing happens all throughout the night. its like leaving a electric blanket on all night. feels good at first but you always end up overheating.

Is it true since we have CF we have trouble regulating our body temperatures? I know that if I go outside and get cold or hot it takes me a long time to get warm or cool again. I also get night sweats but only on that day or two before my monthy happens.
