I was well three week ago when we talked about doing surgery. My doc took two weeks to get back with me, and today my lungs sounded too crappy and they decided to cancel the surgery and want to reschedule for inpatient care.
AHHHH! ........sorry guys, I just feel like complaining right now.

That's what we're here for - complain away!

I'm glad they're postponing the surgery if it's too risky. Hope you feel better soon and can go ahead with it.

I have had many, many, many surgeries and procedures and some of them have been postponed and it is never easy when they are so I feel for you. It's a good thing that the doctor is looking out for you though because some wouldn't and those are the doctors that I don't trust.

One time that I had a surgery was held off was the c-section for my son. They wouldn't do it because my platelet count was low. They wanted to send in a hematologist and I told them just to call my CF doctor because he has dealt with this before when I had needed embolizations. They always gave me FFP (fresh frozen plasma) before a procedure and I told the OB's that this is what Dr. Sexton probably would suggest and to call him. Well, they didn't call him, they called a hematologist. He came in and saw me and said that since he didn't know me, he was going to call Dr. Sexton!! URGHHHHHH! I was so mad that they didn't do that before hand! Everything was planned to happen on Jan 9, 2006, all of my family and a few friends took work off to be there, and I was all prepared (with not eating anything and whatever). By the time they talked to Dr. Sexton and he made the suggestion to do what I had already mentioned (the FFP's), it was too late to do the c-section that day and they held it off!! I was soooooo frustrated! They gave me FFP's the nest day and then took me in for the c-section and everything went fine.

So yes, it is frustrating, and complain away, but like I said, at least the doctors are looking out for us!
