Friday Noah had his appt w/ the pulm. The good news is he didn't grow out any psuedomonas...the bad news is he did culture staph pneumonae, but not enough to concern the docs. He said unless it makes him sick they're not gonna mess with it. Then there was some other bad news...the hosp where the bronch was done, the lab didn't do something right with the slides so they weren't usable. Again, the pulm said it was no big deal, the important ones were done. Also it turns out my boy has reflux. Who knew? Anyone else or your child discoveer they had GERD after a bronch?

Yes, they told us they found lots of acid in avery's lungs after her 1st bronch. They put her on prevacid twice a day. Most CFers take prevacid to help the enzymes work more effeciently. However, she actually needs it for reflux too. My poor girl she had it so bad she was breathing it into her lungs and I didn't even know!

Yes, they told us they found lots of acid in avery's lungs after her 1st bronch. They put her on prevacid twice a day. Most CFers take prevacid to help the enzymes work more effeciently. However, she actually needs it for reflux too. My poor girl she had it so bad she was breathing it into her lungs and I didn't even know!

Well, the pharmacy, insurance and pulm finally got on the same page and Noah began his ranitidine today. How does the acid blocker help the enzymes work better? Is it b/c it reduces the amt of acid in the stomach so the enteric coating helps the capsule make it to the SI?
