Danny 2, with CF, had a nose bleed on Thurs. and then another one today, Sunday. Both times it seemed to come out of nowhere. Both times he blew ou tsome bloody, mucousy snot and the bleeding stopped shortly after. Each time it was a different nostril. He is on Pulmozyme but that is nothing new for him. Any thoughts????? Should I call the Dr tomorrow? Forgot to mention that he has been on Vit K for about 6 months now. Thanks!

I don't know where you live or what the weather is like for you guys, but I know I tend to get nosebleeds when the weather is dry. I actually had a mild one just a few days ago. If you are really concerned I would call the doc. Maybe you could ask them if it would be okay for you to give him a saline nose spray. I try using those during the winter - I have a hard time with nose bleeds during the winter months - and it seems to help a bit for me.

I also get nose bleeds. I just had one yesterday. I don't think mine are due to medicine. Like the others, I think mine are due to dry weather/conditions. I sleep with a fan on too, so I'm sure that adds to it. I'm no doctor, but I don't think I'd be too concerned unless he starts having them more frequently and you are not able to get the bleeding to stop. But you can also metion it to the doctor just to be safe. Some cf patients do have sinus issues, so it might be something you want to check out.

Thanks guys! We live in northern CA and the weather right now is VERY hot--in the 100's. We do have A/C but yes, it is very dry.
