I'm an occupational therapy student that is not familiar with CF. I'm seeking any information you may have to offer in regards to:

1. What assessment tools did the occupational therapist use during the evaluation?
2. Or, What did the occupational therapist assess?
3. What questions did the occupational therapist ask you during the evaluation?
4. What kinds of goals did you set with your occupational therapist?
5. Has your occupational therapist helped you develop any techniques or routines to better assist you during completion of daily activities?
6. Has your OT recommended the use of any devices to help you complete certain tasks/activities during your day?
7. And most importantly, How would you assess your experiences with the occupational therapist?

I appreciate any advice you have to offer and thank you in advance for helping me to better understand this diagnosis and your experiences with OT.
Have a wonderful day!

Hi,

I am an OT who happens to have CF.

I have never seen an OT as part of my treatment. As far as I know we usually do not get involved until CF is much further progressed and the patient needs ADL-type equipment or pulse oxemetry.

You might have more success if you post in the Adults forum and ask, as your first question "have you ever seen an OT?".

Also, we see ALOT of people as CF'rs, so you might have difficulty getting alot of detail about what the OT did. Perhaps you should contact a hospital and ask to speak to an OT who works with respiratory patients, COPD is a larger patient group.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info.
