Oh Poop......another poop question here

Ok, I have had a ton more mucus lately because I've had bronchitis and it made me cough a ton! So when I can't spit (like at work or around others) I swallow it (ok, I know it's gross.)
Well today I went poop (my are always formed, never greasy, and always sink) well I looked down before flushing (to see if there was anything to be proud of) and I swear there was a glob of mucus on the outside of my poop.
Is this normal? I had no idea.
Please advise!

mucus does not break down like food does, so it mostly travels as is. So it is not unusual that you saw what you did. You do need to be careful, as mucus can sometimes cause a plug in your intestines (more so the thicker it is). If you are experiencing stomach pain and having problems going, that is an indication of a block - drinking mycomyst will help dissolve the plug, but it is most foul.

I used to do the same if I was in class I would swallow but after awhile it killed my stomach and gave me acid also. I stopped doing that. I just bring tissues with me everywhere. You should keep them with you at work and even when you are around other people spit anyway, it's better than swallowing it. Just always keep those handy dandy tissues with ya! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi there Anonymous...Mucomyst in solution form is a prescription, you have to get a doc's order for it. I hope all goes well for you!!! Hugs, Jenn aka Cepaciagal
