Oregon employee insurance?

Hi All,

My hubby is considering taking a job at the University of Oregon. Of course a major part of the decision is the health insurance. We have gotten some of the basics from HR, but I wonder if anyone on here has personal experience. The same insurance applies to anyone who is a state employee.

So, if you have had good or bad experiences with the plan (cost, docs, location, med reimbursements, hoops, etc.) please share!

Thanks, Stacy

I'm a city rather than state employee (City of Portland) but I have close friends who until recently worked for OSU (Beavers rather than Ducks <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">) and were very pleased with the state coverage overall. I'd make sure that the plan provides your kiddos access to the CF care center at Doernbecher Children's Hosp. in Portland - I'm sure it does. We have Kaiser NW which also provides that access but whose service area is pretty far away from Eugene (Salem is closest). Be sure to ask all the questions from your other post, but I'm sure there will be a plan that suits your needs if your husband takes the position. Good luck!
