Osteoporosis-- beginning symptoms??

I am starting to wonder if I have the beginnings of osteoporosis. I know I need to get the necessary testing but... in the mean time... what symptoms should I be looking for??

I already have CF related arthritis-- in my shoulders, feet, hips and hands and now my knees.

My toes break very easily-- have done this since I was in high school. I had surgery on my large toes in grade school due to shifting bones in my feet. My toes are starting to shift again.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I don't have osteo, so don't know what symptoms but am surprised that your doctor hasn't had you do a dexa-scan yet. Have they brought this up with you? I've had one every year forever it seems.

I'm not sure what the symptoms are, either, Carrie, but I have the beginnings of Osteo myself. I wouldn't know it except for the Dexascans.

Sounds like your dr needs to be ordering them regularly for you and keeping up on that.

I don't know of any symptoms either. Mine was also found with a scan. I can tell you though that since I was diagnosed with Osteo, I have gotten a little shorter. It really bites because I liked being 5'10".....oh well!
