OT: an Xmas thought

This is off topic, but anyways...I the idea from Oprah's xmas show.

I'm getting in the xmas spirit now and had a thought about paying it forward for Christmas. Just wanted to share it with you all in case it's something you might want to do too.

I want to give a gift of maybe $20 to a kid and tell them the idea is to take this money and give it to someone else. I would like to do this with a kid(s) every Xmas so they learn the gift of giving too and become excited to do so. They can research families or other kids in their neighborhood who have just had an accident, family trama, etc and that may appreciate a little extra love, or give to their siblings, etc. What a special thing for a kid to learn and feel the rewards of giving. If I had kids right now, I'd be so excited to start this with them! I don't, so I think I'm going to do this with one of my nieces/nephews. Can't wait, and I hope they enjoy the process.

I love that idea Kelly...I love the idea of random acts of kindness....I love surprising ppl with a gift especially when they don't even know me....

I recently gave the guy at Dunkin Doughnuts a ten dollor tip for a two dollor coffee... when I gave it to him I said it was to help with his Holiday shopping fund... Every day that I have seen him since then, he always waves and smiles at me as I drive by the drive through....

I know ten dollors isn't a lot.. (and to my family members who read this.. HA... I know I know I should be saving my money) but it is so much fun...
