These are from the Ripley's Aquarium- very cool place! The tunnel under the shark tank (with the moving sidewalk) was really neat! The saw tooth sharks apparently like to lay on top of the tunnel-lol.

This is the view from our cabin:

The view from the ski lift:

And this is where we ended up walking a half mile to look out - my DH wanted to go the scenic route home, I thought he meant drive the scenic route, not hike! LOL! I think it was something like 6634 above sea level (Clingman's dome- highest point in Tennessee)- needless to say, we stopped about every 10th of a mile! I did feel better when we realized that everybody (except the backpackers) were having to stop and rest on the benches- and rocks, and logs-lol- too...

And resting and playing in the river/brook:

If anyone plans to go to Gatlinburg, this was a wonderful, clean cabin that just smelled like fresh air, and nothing else! and the staff that runs the rental company (all the cabins are owned by individuals) was very prompt and professional about everything...We had a great time!

We LOVE Gatlinburg, we go about twice a year! It's neat seeing places we have been, even the creek, here on the forums. It's a great place for family vacations. Did you guys get a chance to do any shopping at the outlet mall??? That's a must for me! We also enjoy going out for a dinner and show, Black Bear Jamboree. This past visit we took a helicopter tour, beautiful scenery from above. Darn, now you have me wanting to go back for a mini vacation so soon. Looks like you guys had a great time!

We had a mini vacation this time (3 nights) and my sister stayed the first 2 nights, too (and her DH, and 2 kids-ages 4 and 2- ours is 3 yrs- what a crowd! lol) for our upcoming 15 year anniversary (tomorrow ).

No outlet shopping, but we did go shopping before we left- all of us- totally unheard of that the DH wants to go shopping! lol! I did get to shop on the main drag- I told DH that he owed me more stores (I went in 4) after that hike .

They had the Arts and Crafts festival this weekend (I bought 2 prints) and the Scottish festival was going on. We went up the Needle on our night out (no child ) and at first we were the only 2 people up there- until we were joined by 2 bagpipers and their audience of 3! That was a little surreal- lol. It was so neat! What is the Black Bear Jamboree? I missed that...

We are already ready to go back...

The pics are amazing. DH and I went to Gatlingburg / Pigeon Forge, TN for our honeymoon. He loves log cabins, so we stayed in one. You are much more brave than I am, I refused to get on the ski lift. I'm terrified of heights. I dont remember seeing the needle, was that in Gatlingburg? But we did go to the Ripley's Aquarium and Museum. Which was awsome. We also took the scenic route (driving) through the Smoky Mountain Parkway to Cherokee, NC. It was beautiful. We went in October just as the leaves were turning. We did some horseback riding too. Who did you get your cabin through? There are a ton of companies. We used Sunset Cottages.

AMAZING PICS! I loved the jellyfish with the blue background.

Gatlinburg is where I was married 3.5 years ago. Ahhhh what sweet memories. We eloped, decided last minute to get married, laughed thru the whole ceremony (especially with 'in sickness & in health', I thought 'poor sucker'.)

Thanks for sharing, reminds me how much I love that area!
Glad you had a fantastic trip!
