Hi, im 28/f/uk and i have just been diagnosed with CF (as of 2 months ago). My bf and I have been trying for kids for the past 6 months and i was wondering if anyone had helpful advice about lubricants i could use before moving onto mucinex.

I have been using KY for a while because i can be quite dry (linked to a year long history of dyspareunia), but no matter how long i lie down after sex within a couple of hours of getting up the KY and sperm leaks out of me.

does anyone have any advice to help in any way?

many thanks

I used Pre-Seed. If you look at the web site there is a lot of information on it's use while trying to conceive. It is the only lubricant that is allowed to state "safe for use" by couples while trying to conceive. It is pH balanced to match fertile cervical mucus and does not harm sperm. They have two different products, an external lubricant and and internal one. If you are having problems with cervical fluid being dry or absent the internal one may help you. Google it and take a look at the website.

Hi! Definitely use the pre-seed. It is the ONLY lubricant that is safe for sperm. KY kills sperm so no matter how much you had sex at the right times, etc, you still wouldn't end up pregnant. Sure there are stories of women getting pregnant with KY but they are few and far between (just like women getting pregnant while using birth control - it happens but it isn't the norm.)

IMO, get some preseed and track your fertility. Use it only when you think you may be fertile. The KY is fine for other times of your cycle but isn't going to get you pregnant, that is for sure. We used preseed very successfully!

Oh and it is normal for the seminal fluid to leak out after sex. The sperm who would have made it have made it in already.

Something kinda funny:

When my husband and I were TTC, I started joking about standing on my head after sex to help the sperm make their way to the egg. (We saw something similar on an old FRIENDS episode.) But the more I thought about it, it started to make sense.

Laugh all you want, but (almost) every time after we had sex I would swing my legs up onto the back of the couch and lay there uspide down or prop my feet up against a wall and stand on my head. Soon, I was pregnant. Coincidence??? Probably. But it might not hurt to try. Ha ha!
