Our firstt(totally) teleprompter president....

I could've filed this under Hypocracy 101...

The American Spectator notes that for many events: "... down to many of the questions and the answers to those questions. ... [t]eleprompter screens at the events scrolled not only his opening remarks, but also statistics and information he could use to answer questions." It quoted one Obama advisor as saying that Mr. Obama is looking at installing a computer screen in White House podiums so "it would make it easier for the comms (communications) guys to pass along information without being obvious about it."

The notion that a computer technician is queuing up the president's answers to questions is disturbing. One can easily imagine a Saturday Night Live skit where a technician waits with a canned set of answers to possible questions and from time to time cues up the wrong one.

Some have noted that Mr. Obama's stumbling speeches have occurred when teleprompters have malfunctioned (or when he doesn't have one)...We would like to have a president who occasionally comes across as more than a TV anchor reading a script.

He even put one up during the campaign at the Colorado State Fair--where he put one in the middle of a rodeo ring...

The most intelligent and communicative president EVER!!! (As long as he has his teleprompter...)

Yep, I saw that news on Yahoo.com about Obama using a teleprompter as his security blanket (that's how they put it)

I even read that some of the few times he didn't use it, he stumbled on his words or was real "unnatural" in his form of speaking. Supposedly, he tried going without but couldn't.

If he goes as far as using one when he goes to those kiddy-garten schools to play with the children, he's gone too far....trade it in for a teddy-bear!

Terri, I thought of you during the entire news conference. Even my youngest son made the comment - "It seems like he doesn't know the answer."

It makes him look unintelligent when he stumbles on his words like that. I can see using visual aids when giving a written speach, but for a question and answer session that he had a list for? It seems he should have been more prepared.

It is quite laughable. Surely you heard about this on St Patrick, err, Shamrock Day: LINK

If this had been Bush, all of the media outlets would have had a hay-day with this!

I don't understand why someone with an ivy-league education needs to rely on others and screens to answer questions. I could see when he's giving State of the Union speeches & such, but using a teleprompter to host a party at the White House or to answer questions from reporters?? And surely, he didn't know ahead of time who would ask what questions & then hand select who he would ask?? I seem to remember someone blasting Bush for reportedly doing this...

Here could be a case of the ole teleprompter giving out...
