p 73 oregano oil

I just purchased the super strength p73 oo drops. I don't intend on nebbing the oo, it's not the water soluable anyway, but I was wondering how the drops taken only orally have worked for others?

Also, is there any reason to believe one could get oil in their lungs by just using the drops orally?

i use the oil under my tongue and have no problem.

as for it getting into your lungs when put under your tongue...does that happen when you drink water, milk, whatever? not really something to be concerned about.

my pft's have gone up about 5%...not sure if it's the oregano oil or the hypertonic saline or the combination of both since i started both at the same time. also, i noticed that when i did 4 drops of the super strength oil a day that i had some blood mixed in with my sputum, so i cut it back to the recommended dosage of 2 drops a day and haven't had any more issues. i believe someone mentioned in an earlier thread about it thinning the blood as a possible side effect.

Same thing for me, I can't really tell if the oo is helping me or if the HS is, or what. I feel pretty good but i have no idea how much the oo is helping or not.

I have been coughing up blood stained mucus on and off for a couple days. A half hour after the OO it has gotten worse. I only took two drops.

I'm on the oo tablets and not the hs, and I've noticed that I'm coughing a lot more stuff up. This is great, as better up and out, then in. I've definitly noticed my energy level is up as well, and plan on going back to the gym now that my energy is up. I also haven't noticed bleeding, and this may very well be because I'm not inhaled the oo. I also have the drops which I use once and awhile when I'm feeling lethargic.

My pft´s went up 5 % too and I changed nothing but began to take the oo-capsules! I can´t get the water soluable oil here (in fact I can´t even get the capsules, I order them from England), only one which is made for rabbits and I´m not shure if that would be ok...<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I think due to how everyones bodies are different, and how each of us have varying levels of CF progression and body chemistry in general, some will have more pronounced blood thining than others, when given the same doseage in the same way. When I was going nutty with the stuff both in pill form, drops under tongue, and inhaled, I did notice I had pronounced blood thining when i would get a cut, or pick my thumbs or lip or whatever that would draw blood. Nothing rediculous like hemophilia, just added time for it to clot up. Some people might take 4 drops and have more noticeable blood thining, and others won't seem to have any. A daily vitamin K supplement seems to counteract the thining effect to a large degree, and as CF's, we all should be on a daily vitamin K supplement anyways.

If your lungs are generally unhealthy (well all of ours are, but some worse than others), and you have inflamation or a possible infection at some stage, and you take any antiplatelet substance (blood thining), even aspirin, it could result in blood streaking in your mucous. Also if you move out a good deal of mucous, it can reveal nasty stuff you had stuck in your lungs, like plugs, old blood, etc. People also notice this with HS. Like I tell everyone, if you choose to start taking the stuff, do it for a good month atleast, and keep tabs on how you feel during that time and note any changes good or bad. As long as you don't have any prolonged problems like more bouts than usual with bleeding over a period of time, way too much irritation, etc etc, I'd say keep at it for a month to see if it benefits you. A few people didn't like it and quit, and others have stuck with it and are enjoying better CF health.
