Pain patches?

Starting last night i starting having like a sharp stabbing pain on my left side while breathing, feels like it's slowly getting better. I've had pain like this before but it's been years now.
just curious if anyone know's if things like pain patches can help relieve some of the pain, or would it just be a waste of money?

I use the Icy Hot patches for pain and yes they do work. They're nice because you can leave them on for hours and go about your day. I've slept with them on too.

I've used them too, and they do work. They are extra effective if you shower first and put them on right after. A heating pad, depending on the type of pain, can also be useful. Hope you feel better soon!
