I actually agree with this. I come from a skinny family. It never bothered me, but my sister (without cf) would actually come home crying because people would call her skinny all day long. It's not polite, you don't see anyone going up to heavier people saying "look at how fat you are! I could never fit into that cause it's waaay to big for me, seriously you must weigh like 500lbs." I dunno, I've always felt the same way. I would never point out that someone big was big, so why would you point out that someone is small? And to be honest sometimes it does bother me, cause sometimes i really want to do it back, but I have more manners than that.

Just realize that those people must have really sad lives to have nothing more to focus on or talk about other than how skinny you are. You are beautiful reagardless of your body build or features and anyone who cannot see past that is not worth your time sweetie. also, if you haven't expressed to anyone about your CF, and even if you have they might not know or understand all the effects that it has. if you feel comfortable, don't be afrid to talk to friends about it when you feel ready and that time comes. You might find that they will lay off if they understand what is going on. But like I said earlier, if someone can't see past they way your body is built, don't loose sleep over it because they aren't worth your time!

I was realli skinny when I was n 4th grade. I weighed about 40 pounds and I was pretty tall. I was nothing but skin n bones. I had no cheek bones, and everytime I bought shorts or pants my mom had to take it n.. Well it was kinda my fault that I was skinny cause I never realli ate. I would lie cause all I cared about was to go out n play.. Now that Im 19 n I look much better than I did several years ago.. It just takes time.. Eat fried food.. I dont eat it but that will help u a lot.. Or just eat meat..

I have to put in my 2 cents on this. People are all the time commenting on my sons tummy and how 'fat' it is. It is because of his bloating from his CF and not from anything else! It makes me sooo mad. He is off the charts small for his age, height and weight. There are times I go into an explanation that it is because of his disease to make them think about their comments. Not to hurt them...but to let them think. You wouldn't comment on a bald person's head...what if they had cancer...

Hi. I am a mother of an eight year old with CF. He is currently in the hospital and is on IV meds. He has a port-o-cath and a mickey button. He has been through numerous surgeries and hospitalizations and medications but you can't break his spirit. His birthday is on November 24th. He's hoping he doesn't have to spend his Birthday or Thanksgiving in the hospital this year. He is a beautiful child and has a loving personality towards everyone. He is especially kind to his little brother Arthur. He has a loving and supportive family around him and we all pray to the Lord that He will give Andrew the strength to fight off any other infections that are trying to invade his little body. It would help immensely if all other CF patients and non-patients send your prayers our way as you will be in our prayers this Thanksgiving holiday. May God Bless you all and keep you healthy. May He also bless the Physicians that make us and keep us healthy.
