OOOPS!!!

Posted this on adult site...should have posted under families probably...

Our child has PFTs around 70%...is this good/bad/normal for his age...

At what PFT % do you start considering a lung transplant.

His overall health is good, no hospitalizations yet.

Thanks

All I can say is that my daughters PFT's have been between 60 and 70 and other times between 90 and 100 and she's doing great! Never hospitalized and x-rays always look good.

I don't know your child's age & am not sure that a certain "age" should have a certain lung function. I believe that normal is anyplace between 80% and 120%.
They start to mention thinking of transplant when the FEV1 percentage is around 30%.
