pharmacy use

I have about had it with CF Services Pharmacy. Their customer service reps are anything but competent. I have given them many chances and tried to be 'patient'.
I would rather give my money or my insurance money to CF Svs Pharmacy. But their service is terrible. I am going to give up.
What are my other options? Does anyone use FoundationCare? I would only be getting HS and Aquadeks.
Does anyone use any other pharmacy for cf specialty drugs?

I have 3 children with CF. Having a reliable pharmacy is so very important to us when refilling our 27 medications. I am not able to us the CF Pharmacy because of my insurance, but I've had tremendous problems with the mail order pharmacy that we use. After a year and a half of complications, I finally built up the brains to switch. I just switched to a retail pharmacy near my home and can't believe that I just saved $1200 a year in copays!!! It makes me mad that it could be so different from pharmacy to pharmacy! You would think that your copay would be the same no matter where you go, but obviously it's not. Very frustrating.
My children just take the Source CF and Vitamax vitamins. Since they are on Creon, we get the vitamins for free, along with other nutritional supplements. It's called the CF Care Forward Program. It's changed it's name so many times over the years, but has always been good at getting our supplements to us.

We used our local pharmacy and prices were comparable; however, because we had issues getting aquadecks and were also using the Tobi Foundation program we had to go thru CF Pharmacy. Was way too stressful for me. Told Tobi was sent and it wasn't, once they didn't send the adeks because they didn't think we needed it even though I PLACED the order because it wasn't covered under our insurance. Billing was screwed up -- sometimes they'd use my credit card, other times they'd bill me, then I'd give up after several overdue notices and send a check and would then get a credit.

I DID find that if I ordered online and didn't deal with a human (over the phone), that I didn't have any issues.

We now go thru a relative's pharmacy and they either mail it to my office or drop it off personally on their way thru town.

I use Foundation Care and have always been very happy with them. I only use them for items that Medco (my mail order pharmacy) can not provide (Cayston and Colistin and get for free my vitamins, nebs, hypertonic saline and eflows.) If I need a medication very quickly and it is inexpensive I get it at Walgreens but I can go through Medco for even 1 month supplies of meds but it can take a week to arrive. Sometimes the cost is prohibitive for me to do it any other way. For this reason, I have a supply of most meds in my house at all time even if I have no plans to take them. For example, I keep Zyvox on hand because if my doctor and I decide we want to start it as part of an IV therapy plan (orally) we want to start it ASAP, not in a week's time. If I were to go to Walgreen's and fill a Zyvox script (which I have!) it costs over $400 but mail order is $30.

I use Super Target pharmacy for all of Rachel's CF meds except Cayston. They've never had any trouble getting anything in if it's M-Th, it's in the next day unless there is a supplier problem and that would effect all pharmacies. I've even had them volunteer to check other pharmacies that have a different distributer, if they are not able to get it in the next day. When Anna' was on all of her transplant meds, they were beyond super, making sure they had what she needed, found it if they didn't, even if it meant having to go to a different pharmacy.

We have to use Express Scripts and their specialty pharmacy, CuraScript for all of our maintenance meds. UGH! They are awful. Just awful! We used CF Services before our insurance demanded we switch. I preferred them much better to our current mess!

I've have been using CF Services Pharmacy for Cayston for over five years and only have positive experiences with them. They were extremely helpful when I recently retired and had to switch from employer provided insurance to Medicare. I also have experience with both Medco and Express Scripts (who I believe now owns Medco), and with both of their specialty pharmacies. While Medico provided more feedback on order status, and faster delivery, I have been satisfied with both. Stephen 70 Y/O with CF and Bronchiectasis
