Physio-Vest questions

Hello,

I am in Canada an a vest is not covered either through our insurance or the government. Can anybody tell me where I can get one in Canada or the USA and how much they are. Also to those who use a vest do you replace regular physio or do you do both...our son is 9yrs old.

Yikes... When I got mine almost 8 years ago it was $17,000 US dollars.

My insurance would not cover it either, but I sued on the basis of medical necessity and they covered it.

Have you talked to your doctors about writing letters to your insurance? Have you thought about contacting a lawyer?

My son is on the vest. His is covered through his insurance so I am not sure how much it cost. I would like to know but afraid the cost would scare me. However the information to the company his is from is

The hospital says that they have NEVER had a patient who successfully had a vest pass through insurance. This is because Physio can be done manually so they do not cover it. I am going through the process of passing it through the insurance but am sure it will be denied. I was hoping it was not so expensive!!!! damn!!! 17,000$ US huh...boooo<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Fight it, take a stand and make it a first in canada. Visit www.thevest.com Insurance covered ours, but for a while we had to fight it and they told us it would be 15,000. There are even studies on the website showing the vest verses regular chest PT.
