Playgroup Santa

I was to dress as santa and hand out presents to the kids at the playgroup, there are only the two of us that take there kids there, thats fathers, the rest is maybe 15 mothers. Well on the day, one of the mothers questioned the mother who runs it, as to wether I should be doing this as my daughter has chickenpox, as she ''Dosent want to put her children at risk.''
A bit of an argument ensued, and the leader leapt to my defense. I however chose to not perform as santa, they pleaded for a half hour, but no, It now didn't feel right.
They got the hall caretaker to take over, so the day was saved, oh and I still got the bottle of whisky that had been bought for me in advance for doing it.

Now they all know that Craig has CF and so it well displeased me when she said that she didnt want to put her kids at risk. I mean, she and other mothers regularly take their kids with runny noses and colds. So in future none of the kids had better turn up with colds or I will let rip.

Hiya Craig

You poor thing! Sounds a bit pathetic to me. My youngest daughter goes to Playgroup and there are always kids there with runny noses so I know exactly how you feel. This mother sounds a bit of a hypocrite to me. If you don't mind me asking, how did they find out your son had CF? Just interested.

The mother who runs the group is my wife's sister in law, and to be honest we are quite open about his CF. They knew about the chickenpox because my wife couldent take Craig to the pantomine with them last weekend because of the infectious period of chickenpox. I guess it was a case of ignorance about the infectious period of chickenpox by the mother, I knew Craig or myself would not have been infectious at that moment in time. I iamgine as parents of someone with CF, we tend to be more in tune with the course of infections.
