Treat him like a normal baby. Take him for walks. When DS was that age I took him for walks. Took him to the mall, grocery store, etc., but I kept him in his car seat carrier. He did go to daycare at 3 months. Our only requirement was if anyone wanted to hold or touch him, they had to wash their hand, didn't want sick people around him...

Common sense is your best friend. If a healthy person doesnt want to get sick, they take precautions like avoiding sick people when possible, hand washing etc.

These are important with CFers also. That doesnt mean go nuts & avoid living. A walk, a playground, interacting & just being a kid is important also.

Dont just think of the physical aspect, remember the emotional/mental factors also.

Much of it will seem natural to you believe it or not. You might encounter a situation you arent sure of & this is a good place to run such an issue past us. But for the most part common sense & preventive care as directed by the CF clinic is your best bet.

Welcome to our family!

Yes please -- go be normal! :)

I agree - just use common sense around people with colds and stuff - just like anyone without CF -- nobody wants to pick up a cold from someone else -- avoiding sick people, washing your hands often, not sharing toys at at doctors office are all things that everyone should do, with or without CF.
