I am in a big pinch, I lost my insurance in NJ and my new insurance prescription max that they will pay a year is 6 thousand dollars which I am already over that and it is March..

I need help getting Pulmozyme and Tobi.. I have no idea how to go about getting assistance, I am going to talk to my social worker tomorrow... but does anyone get Tobi or Pulmozyme through any assistance programs?

I am probably going to have to go off the Tobi and maybe see is Mucyomist is cheaper and see if I can afford that.. I cant believe I wiped out my max for the year already, what about all my IVs I am on and stuff? I am so lost and so confused and not sure how I ended up with such a horrid health plan..

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Health insurance is terrible! Try this link to see if you can find help with pulmozyme: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.gene.com/gene/about/views/pricing/patient-access.html
">http://www.gene.com/gene/about...g/patient-access.html
</a>
I know one year my health insurance took pulmozyme off of their formulary so I was responsible for paying 50% of the medicine cost, which was $800 per month! There was no WAY I could afford that so I applied for Genetech's help and only had to pay $100 a month.

I know that they have changed the way they do things recently but someone should still be able to help you. I am not on Tobi so I don't have any info on that.

Good luck-its so frustrating when these medications that are supposed to be preventative and we can't afford them!

We were under the Tobi Foundation's program. Your clinic should be familiar with it as they have to fill out part of the application form.

Basically if your copay is greater than $25 or you're not covered, they will cover the costs. With our BCBS insurance, we have to pay $15-30 per script, plus 20%, so the first time I picked up DS' tobi it was $536.

There are income guidelines, which at the time we still fell within despite dual income. We also had to go thru the CF pharmacy. For the past 2 years we haven't been covered under their program because of the income guidelines. Fortunately we have an out of pocket maximum of $1000 for prescriptions and are then responsible for the $15-30 copay and we also have flexible spending accounts, so I flex out about $2,000 for medical each year and DH does the same.

Thanks for the info... I am waiting for the Tobi ppl to call me back, the Pulmozyme Access Solution People are amazing.....

I called them and basically because I am underinsured, which I can't believe I am and how that happend to me is another story, they are able to help me.

They have to verify a few things with doctors office but basically said if I make under 100,000 a year which I wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do, and I am maxed out on my benefits which I am... I can get Pulmozyme through the foundation.

They were so kind and so nice about it. They are overnighting me so forms and faxing my doctors office..Now to get some TObi and to figure out how I am going to pay for the rest of my medications for the year...

Yikes....

Thanks for help..
