Hello,

I had an appointment yesterday with my Pulmo and she decided to give me a pneumonia shot. I have never had one before in all my 37 years. I got the shot around 1:30pm yesterday and about 8pm last night my arm felt stiff and is very tender and painful. Is this normal? My DR said it is just like the flu shot a little sore for 24 hrs then I will not even know I got it. I got my flu shot the 3rd of October and didnt have hardly any pain just stiffness for about 24hrs. Any advice or ideas to help relax my arm would be greatly appreciated... Oh by the way breathing was at 42% on FEV1 yeahhhh...

Thanks in advance,
Melissa

Take a pain reliever. Try to move your arm around. Soak in the tub... When I had my tetanus/pertussis vaccine a few years ago, not only did my entire arm hurt, but all the way across my collar bone. Thank goodness those shots are only every 10 years.

I would suggest heat and moving it as much as you can, My shot like that hurt as much as a tetnis(sp) booster. screwed up my arm for like 2-3 days.
