pneumothorax aka. collapsed lung

So, just got out of the hospital on Sunday after having a small pneumothorax, still there but didn't get any bigger so they let me go. This is my third collapsed lung in nine years, the other two required a chest tube. I believe all the prayers I received made it not such an ordeal this time. Anyway I wonder how many of you have had them?

Also, I know I have worked through the fear that the pneumothorax will get worse or that I will have another one, but I can't recall how - I do a vest gently, which seems wrong to me. I am to the point where I feel like things are not going so well. Bad sputum, pneumonia, bleeding lung, now this - in the last two months. Since graduation in May and getting a job, things just changed, I was much healthier in college. I am engaged to be married in October and wonder sometimes why I am choosing to wait, what if this is my downward spiral - ugh - I hate these thoughts. Not real sure what I am looking for by writing this, I guess just to vent.

What about getting listed for a transplant? That is always an option. I just had one and it was the best decision i've ever made. It doesn't have to be a downward spiral. I am now on an upward spiral. Something to think about.

I've always wondered what a collapsed lung is. What does it feel like, how does it happen? Are there any signs before it happens?

I had pneumothorax this past August. My lung wouldnt re-inflate so I had surgery where they basically scrapped all the gunk off my lung. Since then I have been well. Also since then I have been excersising more, which seems to have help alot.
