Potty Training

Daycare started working on potty training a month or so ago 'cuz DS was dry for about two weeks in a row after nap time, was telling them and us when he had to go potty. Bought the thick training pants and plastic pants and a giant poo and pee fest began -- was washing clothes every night. Common occurence according to parents who've gone thru this before, as well as the director of the daycare.

A few weeks ago the director of the daycare told me that she thought ds had finally reached the turning point -- they sent home all his remaining diapers, he was dry again after nap time, dry almost all day long and then.... Upper respiratory infection. Cipro puts a damper on potty training.

Promised DS is he stayed dry all day long, no wet pants we'd go to his choice -- he wants to go to Space Aliens for Pizza and bring along grandma & grandpa. He was dry yesterday!!!! Asked him where he wanted to go --this is a child who doesn't LIKE pizza -- He still wants to go there, maybe he'll surprise us and eat pizza, or ribs or a burger.

Now on to the staying dry all night long. Liza mom to a 2 1/2 year old wcf

Cale does well with the pee but when it comes to poo, he does not, will not, go on the potty. I've put him in big boy pants and he'll still go in them. The only plus is he'll hold it longer so there is only one or two a day vs. 4 or 5. I know if I am more persistent, he'll do it before pre-school.

Middle of dinner last night DS announces -- I peeing! He was so proud! I shrieked, you're not wearing a diaper. He just gave me a huge grin! Toddlers! Messing with me!
