I use a percussor as well as the Scandipharm flutter. The flutter is a pocket sized device used for the same reasons as the percussor. You blow into it, and try to levitate a small ball bearing inside of the body. I only use this when I'm not sick and having a "good" day. I use the percussor 2 times daily, 3 times daily when I'm sick.

My daughter uses a percussor -- has had it for about 1 1/2, maybe 2 years. She is 17 years old. She likes it but we are now trying to get her a vest because we feel it is more convenient and does a better job, and it is hands free -- when she uses the percussor she usually gets almost all the areas herself but it seems to take longer and I don't think she gets the total coverage like she does with the vest.

I do think the percusser is a nicer option the manual PT when things are "normal" but when she really needs something to move, it's back to manual PT.

I have an antique percussor I've had for 22 years. It only runs for about 10 minutes then cuts out, hahaha. I can't bring myself to throw it away. I remember when I was about 3, before the mechanical percussor, my grandma took a baby bottle nipple and wrapped a sock underneath it with duct tape and made a tiny, hand percussor. I think I still have it somewhere. Its a good memory.

I have a precussor. I also use the vest or manual PT for regular treatment. I also have an acappella for on the go treatment. I use the precussor when I feel a little extra junky and need some extra therapy. Also when I dont have anyone around to give manual PT or too SOB (due to being really sick) for the acappella or I dont think the vest has done a good enough job.
