Prednisone burst question

So...I'm doing a prednisone burst for the first time in over 10 years, and pretty much all I remember about it is that it made my face puffy, made me grumpy, and I couldn't sleep well. So I was wondering, do y'all who have done these take it at a certain time of day (like right before bed, so you can fall asleep first), or first thing in the am, so it's wearing off a bit before bedtime, or does it just not matter?

Any advice would be appreciated <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> .

I learned NOT to take it at bedtime because it messed with my sugars MORE at night. If I took it at dinner time & breakfast time, I had time to adjust things with my insulin.

Some of it might have been the usual grumpiness that comes with using Prednisone, but most of it was the affects on my sugars by using it.

I just got off a dose of prednisone-they had me take 60mg once a day for 2 days, then 40mg once a day for 3 days, then down to 30, so on.
They told me to take it in the morning so I would be able to sleep at night.
But-I found I prefer to split it up and take 1/2 in the morning and half around dinner time-taking it once per day really gave me side effects that I have never had before (heart beating faster, unable to sleep, tingling hands).
It really helped to open up my lungs....but in the future I will take it twice a day.
Good luck!
