Presurgical Ultrasound Results

Well, I have received some results today. I was so nervous that it was pathetic. I don't know why I always get so worked up.

Anyway, the ultrasound was NORMAL!!! He did NOT find PCOS of the left ovary or a cyst for that matter. The right ovary was fine as always. My uterus was also fine.

To interesting things are as follows...I told him that I recently found out that both my aunts were diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis by the age of 29. Both had hysterectomies. One was able to have children before diagnosis the other not.

That caught his attention. He immediately looked at me and said, 'Really?". He was already suspecting endometriosis before I knew of the family history. He also suspects adhesions and scar tissue from both my previous abdominal surgeries. So we are starting to come to a conclusion as to what is wrong.

The second interesting observation was that I did NOT ovulate this month. He didn't really make a big deal out of it. I actually was the one that brought it to his attention. I told him that this month I did NOT have the stabbing pain and bathroom problems that I usually do mid-cycle. That also got his attention. There is surely a connection between the two. I am ovulating MOST months. My progesterone in March on Cycle Day 24 was 10.79 when it only needed to be between 8-10. So I know when I'm ovulating and not ovulating.

Any comments? In conclusion, he said he didn't find anything AND DIDN'T EXPECT TO!!! So my problem looks like it's entirely endo, adhesion, and scar tissue related!!!

What a lovely visit! I hope the surgery goes smooth. I'll be interested to know about the endo issue. I think stage IV can be dx'd by u/s because that's at the point where you have endometreomas (blood filled cysts) on your ovaries. My RE was so proud of himself to pull one of mine off and out completely intact during my lap. LOL! So fingers crossed that you are not to that stage yet.

I'm also curious if he has an explanation for the anovulatory cycles. I don't think endo and anovulation are linked. Of course, I could be wrong.

Keep us posted!

Glad that the U/S showed now PCOS or any cysts. I really hope that the lap will get rid of whatever is causing your problem for now. I'm super interested to know what he finds! Glad you find a doc who was willing to listen to you and take some action.
