ProNeb Ultra

My homehealthcare did not carry the Proneb Ultra when I had to order it years ago and they sent me a compressor called Mister Neb and they said it was equivalent. I have been using it for years but now I am wondering if it is as powerful as it should be or are my nebs taking me longer than they should.

I do use the Pari Neb Nebulizers to inhale all meds and I do love them.

Albuterol takes 20-25 mins
Pulmozyme 20 mins
Tobi 30-45 mins

Thanks!

Those times seem to suggest that it is not equivalent to the Pari Ultra. I feel bad you've had to spend some much time on your treatments. I only do albuterol, 10 -11 minutes and TOBI, 20 to 25, with the Pari.

When DS was first diagnosed, the hospital arranged for us to get a proneb ultra -- came from apria and later insurance showed they'd been billed for $365 -- for a machine I'd see online for $70-120. When we got home and I called our local home healthcare place, they told me they don't carry that model and if anything went wrong with it, they'd have to send it in, but could rent me a different model.

I recently ordered a pari proneb ultra II online for $50 and a couple years ago I ordered a devilbiss pulmoaid for about $100. The devilbiss started having issues about a year after purchase, so I took it to the home health store and they don't carry those either, nor do they service that model; however, they did mail it to the company for me 'cuz it was still under warranty and we got a free one back.

I would think you could order one online or from a different site and have them bill your insurance company. Or have your doctor write a script for that model and only that model and the home health store will just have to find one for you.
