Pseudomonas mendocina

I got my culture results and it showed Staph (they said it didnt have MRSA beside it, but it was +2. they are treating me with the same abx as they would MRSA, so I guess I will treat it as such until I see the culture results myself) and Pseudomonas Mendocina. I figured I would culture Pseudo but I thought it would be PA. It's been about 6 mos or more since I cultured PA, about time for it to make an appearance. But instead they told me it was pseudomonas mendocina. I have never heard of it. I was wondering if anyone else has ever cultured it? Does anyone have any information on it? A good website where I can find information on it? I've googled it, and found a biology description but I understand some of it, but majority of it might as well be greek. I believe it is in the PA family. Also, what I have seen it is rare. I'm gonna search that with CF and see what comes up. My local Pulmo is the one who did the culture at my request. He said it might have just colonized. What does colonized mean? I can't remember. I know all the medicines they listed off for sensitivity were IV, no oral. We are kinda wondering if it might be a lab mix up since they sent a copy of the results one day and it showed just Staph. In the next day or two, they sent another copy and it showed the Staph and P. Mendocina. Any information or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the bump Terri. It doesnt look like anyone knows about it I'm still doing research on the net. I have found a little bit about it, but not much. Mostly the biological make up of it, but nothing as far as what it does or anything useful on my part.
