Are these meds a personal preference and has any used them for a long period of time and had good results with controlling inflammation?

I used to use Pulmicort, and another inhaler (can't remember the name) for about 2 years, until my doc switched me to Symbicort because it contained both pulmicort and my other inhaler. So instead of doing two inhalers, I'm doing one now. I guess its all in what works best for you. Pulmicort worked great and never caused any problems with me.

My daughter used Pulmicort (w/nebulizer) for awhile, but when she turned 3, they switched her to the Flovent inhaler. She likes the inhaler much better than the neb treatment. She uses it for her asthma & when she starts coughing (like she is starting to get sick - b/c she doesn't have a baseline cough yet), we up it to 4 puffs and add albuterol inhaler. I have seen the same results with both.

My son uses advair now. He used to use pulmicort and it works great. We had switched from flovent to pulmicort. The flovent just wasn't working so good for him. The pulmicort def. helped with the inflamatory type cough and so does the advair. The advair is basically a pulmicort type med and a long term bronchodialator. My son has A LOT of trouble with his small airways - lots of RAD.
