Pulmonologist vs. CF clinic

Has anyone switched from a CF clinic to a private pulmonologist? Good/bad experience? My CF clinic is severly lacking, and I don't want to go out of state for my CF care. I've recently been seeing a new doctor and I LOVE IT!

I'm out of my comfort zone here only because I've been going to this clinic since birth. It's scary, but I think I'm going to be much better off with this new doctor.

Your thoughts?

I haven't been to a CF clinic since finishing college (over 15 years ago now). Instead, I see a pulmonary doctor and ID doctor who work together to treat me. It works great for me!

Hi Haley, My insurance company want me to switch from my C/F center (University of Michigan) to a pulmonologist in Lansing Michigan for one reson money.(I pay 20% out of pocket cost right now insurance pays 80%). But I feel very comfortable with U/M and Simon adult center. Over 260 adults go their. I quess sometime its what you might lose or gain on where you go. So ask question when you see your pulmonologist if it sounds good and right to you then stay, but if it does not then call a C/F adult center do not wait for something to happen to you Remember its your HEALTH. Good luck.

I Went to a Clinic for years at Children's then Georgetown and Charlottesville.
In 1988 I started seeing a Pulmonologist, The last 20 years
have been pretty good, with quick access to My Doc.

But Clinics or Reg Cf Docs are good too. I have been looking
back into a few for the past 2 years.

I was told by the Fairfax Adult Cf Program 2 years ago that they
stop seeing adults at 35 ?? Not sure why, But they send there
older folks to a Pulmonologist,He uses the Doc I already have
as His backup when he needs help ?? So no Point in leaving Him for Now.

If You are In a Center, I would stay and maybe try and
find a Pulmonologist in Your Area who has CF Knowledge < This is Very Hard to Find.

Good Luck.
