question about 4 month old?????

Hi! I have a 4 month old and I am about to go to the doctor, because he has been very conjested and wheezing for the past 2 weeks. He has been on a steriod and it hasn't helped too much. Since he has been born he has sounded like he is full of mucus. The doctor thought it was reflux so we have been treating that, but it is not helping. I guess what I would like to know, is what symptoms has your young children shown. Also he does have very wierd boops. The only sign he doesn't show is low weight. He actually is very BIG for his age (17lbs) Please let me know what you think.

What I would recommend is getting a salt test done. My mom told me that whenever she kissed my head i tasted very salty and that was because i lost alot of salt due to me having CF. I dont know if you have talked to the doctor about CF or not but if you havent, then i also recommend talking to him.

Thanks, I am actually going to talk to the doctor today. I don't notice a salty taste to him, but his hands and feet are very sweaty,but not anywhere else. I guess I just don't want to look like a fool talking to the doctor. I just feel like something is not okay with him. Is CF very painful to an infant???

Don't worry about looking "like a fool" to the doctor. They are there to answer your questions. Ask anything you think of, it'll be better than pretending you understand when you don't. I wouldn't say CF is a matter of pain alone, though it can be. It involves a little bit of everything. Research on the internet. This website, or www.cff.org are good ones. They explain all the basics.

i meant a sweat test, but yeah it is very painful. i almost died, but now i have such a mild case of it it's almost like i dont have it, but i still do. my mom told me when i was a baby i looked like an ethiopian baby(very skinny but a stomach that stuck out). but now i dont have a problem needing weight(155). im actually trying to lose like at least 10 lbs. so God has blessed me very much.
