question about gentamicin

Has anyone been told that after three weeks of inhaled Gent., you should stop for a while or try something else or is four weeks more the norm?

My daughter was on gentamycin for quite a while when she was younger, now she is on Colistin and Toby.
They been doing pretty good with it, but personaly I think the gentamycin did better when they neeeded it.

I was on inhaled gentamicin for months & was never told to hold off. Maybe they suggest this now days or with children they suggest this.

Thank you. It's a little scary not knowing enough about these meds when they are on them long term.
