Question about Rotavirus

My son was diagnosis with Rotavirus over the weekend. Does anyone know if the virus has a longer run time with someone that has gut issues then the norm?
My son has CF, short gut syndrome and pancreatic defficiency.
The normal run is 7-8 days, today being day six and there are hardly any signs of him getting better.
Thankfully he has a g-tube so keeping hydrated is a piece of cake but this has knocked Jack on his little behind.
He can barely stay awake for his neb and vest treament before he is back asleep.
We went to the pediatrician yesterday and they said considering everything going on with him right now he looks good.
I'm also worried because at the pediatrician his weight was down over two pounds! When you are only 22 pounds two is a lot!
If anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Carey

Well, today is day seven and Jack's symptoms are finally easing!
He is pooping less, peeing more and is more alert today then the past three days combined.
He went in for a blood draw to check his electrolytes and everything looks good.
I have never been so glad that Jack has a feeding tube. If not for that he would have hospitalized for dehydration for sure.
So I guess just waiting ansered my own question, but now the answer is out there for other parents.

My boy had this when he was just under a year, annoyingly he picked it up from the 1 night he had in hospital. It also lasted 7 days ( or there abouts). He is pancreatic sufficient and has no gastric problems, so maybe it lasts 7 days wether they are sufficient or defficient in the pancreas. Just remembered I blogged about it, I'll see if I can dig it out.
