<p class="msonormal">Hello got a question and am hoping you guys
can give me a little insight before I take my son to the clinic
tomorrow.

<p class="msonormal">

<p class="msonormal">Little background, my son, who is 3 mos. old,
was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia and a partial
collapsed lung.  We were on 3 weeks of Maxipime and Tobramycin
infusions and then a 5 day course of steroids.  During the
steroids his cough decreased.  Now a week and a half later he
is having sinus congestion, increase in coughing (during sleep as
well which is not the norm) and is coughing/vomiting yellow
phlegm.  He seems to be felling great except for the hard time
eating due to the sinus congestion and also just the bothersome of
being congested.  Also I do believe the coughing is most
likely because of the sinus congestion but still a little
worried.

<p class="msonormal">

<p class="msonormal">Just curious if anyone has any ideas at to
what this might be......mild cold, allergies, infection....etc.

<p class="msonormal">

<p class="msonormal">Probably more worried than I should be but I'm
still new to CF and still trying to learn all the signs of anything
serious

<p class="msonormal">

<p class="msonormal">Thanks in advance !

DS had similar issues when he was a few months old -- and I assumed it was a normal, baby/toddler issue. You know, how you always seem to see kids with yellow boogery noses all winter long. Turns out DS had a sinus infection. No fever, but lots of thick yellow boogies. Our local doctor wasn't really concerned -- told us to squirt saline up his nose and suction it out --- which he hated and made him really really irate.

CF doctor in the city was concerned his sinus infection could get into his lungs, that he could get bronchitis or something worse, so he prescribed a month of augmentin to knock it out. And it worked.

Is your son on Tobi? I notice the months DS is on Tobi, his boogies get thicker and he's more congested, digs up his nose more. L
