Poor kiddo. Have his vitamin levels been checked lately? If someone is low in vit K they often have problems with clotting and, consequently, get lots of bruises. Vit K is fat soluable so it is not unusual for CFers to have low levels.

Yes, I was going to say what Caryn did. I'm sorry he's struggling with his weight so much, its such a hard thing.

I am glad you posted this. I have been noticing more and more bruises on Emily lately. Granted, it's getting (Slowly) warmer here, and she is playing more outside, and she is an extremly active child...but this year it seems excessive. I was wondering if there was anything specific I should "wonder' about! LOL! I am making a note right now on her next clinic appointment check list to ask that these things be checked! Thanks, everyone!

We are in the same boat. Owen has bruises all over his body, I have even taken pictures of them before because they can be so bad. I looked at his formula label and he seems to be getting enough Vitamin D with formula alone and he also eats a normal amount so I don't think it's vit. D related with him. My daughter is as active, if not more and she doesn't bruise like this. At the same time, they are not blood related so it's hard to compare. Just another thing to add to the list of issues that don't make sense I guess!

Seriously, just one more thing to add to the list! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Thank you, everyone, for your input. We see the GI doctor on Tuesday and now I will be able to be more specific about some of the tests they will do. Any other advice, thoughts or questions to ask?
He will eat, but then stops b/c he "fills full" and c/o pain when going to the bathroom (he says it "hurts inside me"). His stools are soft, smelly, various colors and does have blood/mucous in them. He is obviously not absorbing the nutrients he needs to. I just pray for answers and him to be healthy. God Bless.
