hey. i have cf and am 23. i just started having constant bleeding. my paps come back normal but they say i look like a woman going through menopause. they said its related to my cf (my gyno, not my cf specialist) but there is no other reason for it. anyone else have this problem or anything similar? thanks, ashley

wow that is so weird. i had that happen to me last year and the doctors thought i was a freak. i was bleeding all the time and when i went to the gyno they told me that i was pregnant! well that totally freaked me out considering that I would have been 7 months along. anyway, after a lot of tests they said that i had a cervix of a pregnant woman and that they didn't know what to do. there is a study somewhere that says that cf and mucus can affect that area but no one really knows what to do. basically i didn't do anything differently and it stopped after like 6 months. i know that doesn't help much but it will stop after awhile, you just have to wait it out.

Oddfreak: it's really different for every girl. it just depends on what your health is like when you are at the stage of your life that your considering it. I will not ever be able to have children and that was the hardest realization for me with CF. But others (even some I've known) have quite succesfully had kids. Others adopt, which I may look into to someday. Bottom line, if you want to be a Mom then you can be one, one way or another.

Yes, you definatelly get more tired running because you have cf, and i dont think you were born early because of that. But im not sure.

RE:question for girls about "girl problems" and cf

i have a question do any of you girls take birth control pills if so that could be it i take those and i once had my period of a mth, and actually now i have had it for 2 weeks, the pill somtimes doesn't work right cuz we take some other meds that it can give you some side effects like that you should bring that up to both doctors and maybe try a different form of birth control, i need to ask my doctor to i just forget every time. hope that helps

I think if you're on the pill and you're bleeding all the time, you should get your doctor to change your birth control prescription. You should be on something that works with your body - the only thing CF does to the pill is make it lease effective, it shouldn't cause you to have excessive bleeding. I had to go through 8 different types of pills until I found the birth control that works for me.
