Just a quick question...is anyone else here allergic to the sun? I developed a nasty sun allergy called Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE). It's common in females from like 15-40. It's also said to be hereditary (though no one else in my family has ever had it). I'm wondering if it was triggered by many antibiotics that increased photosensitivity...anyone else have this problem?

*If you do, I've heard that Eucerin Sunblock for Sensitive Skin works well...regular sunblock does absolutely nothing for me*

I dont have that. But I have never ever burned before (and I am blonde and fair skined)...but once i took a few antibotics that are sun sensitive i have to be more careful because I will burn, even if i am not on any antibotics. So i know with me becoming more sun sensitive, even though not bad, was triggered by antibotics.....but I dont have PMLE

I don't think I am allergic but very sensitive to the sun. I can never see and it makes my eyes burn and water no matter what.

im not allergic to the sun either, but i get heat rash a fair bit and although it isnt a burn, i will turn all shades of pink and red after being in the sun for a few minutes. when im on cipro i burn with a 'regular' application of sunscreen and the heat rash is 100 times worse. the rash drives me insane so cortisone cream is my best friend at those times. i will usually put several really thick layers of sunscreen on and let it soak in for a bit before rubbing it completely in. for me it wont stop the heat rash but at least i wont look like a crispy lobster.

nicole, my eyes are sensitive to light too! i cant drive without sunglasses on, and the darker they are the better. if i dont have my sunnies with me i end up shutting my eyes while driving. if i look at anything remotely bright they will start to water and when i try to keep them open they start rolling around and stinging. i wish i knew why it happens.

My eyes are really sensitive, especially at night. I am constantly squinting into the lights of the oncoming traffic.

Don't have much of a problem with the sun though. I live in Australia, so I guess I have been brought up on sun!
