My 15 month old son woke up this morning covered in vomit. A call to our pediatrician, resulted in the nurse suggesting it was the flu that is currently traveling through our area. However, he is 6 days into a cycle of Augmentin. We're currently waiting for our sweat test to be scheduled. I had posted earlier about all his symptoms; constipation then diarrhea, chronic cough, asthma, yellowing of his feet, lactose intolerance, gas fits to name a majority. I am wondering if this sounds similar to anything anyone has experienced. His vomit was primarily mucus and phlegm. He vomited several time followed by diarrhea (with heavy mucus) throughout the day today. This evening he was able to start eating again (crackers) and drinking Pedialyte. My guess is his lungs cleared, as they sounded better this morning, and he swallowed the mucus throughout the night and his stomach just could not handle anymore. Sorry for being so long winded just not sure if this is something other have dealt with.....

My son had that problem when he had bronchitis in the summer. He had so much drainage, and coughed so much he just kept throwing up. After a few days and many, many treatments later he finally was able to keep something down. It sounds like he's clearing up, though. Hugs to all of you!

Grayson is 9mo old and she throws up mucus when she is congested. The doctors said exactly what you said. As she is coughing to clear her lungs she is to young to spit it out and swallows it. After it goes into her stomach she will throw it up. And sometimes there is so much mucus that she gags...I guess we are just glad that she is getting it out of her lungs. The flu is going around where we live too so almost everyone has had the stomach bug or diarria. Hope you get answers soon.
