Questions with disability at work

I live in CA and I feel like my employer is not giving the reasonable accommodations, and maybe even discriminating against my disease (CF). A year and a half ago I was hired as a fine dining food server. I had been working at the company a little less then a year and because the employees never got formal training, they decided to train us. The person they got to train us, from a different department, ended up getting hired to work there also along while working his other job with the company. I verbally told the manager I need mainly night shifts because morning was too difficult with my disease. Once the new man who trained us was on staff, I got dropped from my shifts to only two morning shifts. I told my manager I could only do one morning shift a week due to my illness and the rest had to be night shifts. I ended up getting only one morning shift. I went to HR and they told me they could transfer me to a different department but could not give me the night shifts I wanted. The department they transferred me to is very demanding and very tiring. I have come home from work and coughed up blood from all the running around and stress. They transferred me to a lounge/bar as a cocktail waitress where weekends are grueling. Week days we close at 10pm, and weekends we close at 12am. I decided to get another job and cut my shifts down to two weekdays and work at the new job the remaining three days. The new job is in the same industry, but it is just food serving, and they close at 10pm everyday. I wanted to remain at the old job also because I wanted to keep it on my resume. Most food servers have two jobs anyways because food service is part time. The old job just informed me that I am going to have to pick between the new job and them because it is a conflict of interest. Three months prior they hired someone from the new job and she remained working in the lounge until they told her to make a choice too. They told her and I at the same time. They still hired her knowing she worked there though. I had a meeting with HR last week and they are giving me two weeks to decide. I looked at my schedule last night, and they dropped me to only one shift for the week. I feel like they are pushing me out the door and they found there best way of doing it, by using the conflict of interest. I have never been written up or been in any kind of trouble there. I think they just don't want to deal with my disease. My question is there anything with CF that helps us to not be discriminated against at work? Is there anyone I can talk to in regards to this, maybe a professional that can help me through this process. Does any foundation provide assistance in helping us keep our jobs through our disability? What would be my best route? I have never had a employer push me out the door before.

I am going through the same sort of thing. I was fired because the were no jobs in the whole plant the could accomodate my restrictions (avoid slips, falls, and cuts due to bloodthinners) I filed a case with eeoc that is in the works. As printer said contact CF legal and they will point you in the right direction. I knew my job was going to give me a hard time so i recorded all me conversations with them. Get as much evidence you can get, save any paperwork or term letter. Don't throw anything out. The problem with these cases is proving its because of the disability and not just your employer running a buisiness. Call cf legal first and go from there, they have always had answers, and helped me out.
Good Luck!
